Bionic Guest Star: Aaron Douglas

It’s no surprise that Aaron Douglas, known to many as deck Chief Galen Tyrol on Battlestar Galactica, would show up on producer David Eick’s Bionic Woman.  Like Katee Sackhoff, Douglas is lending his time and fan good will to the show.  Unfortunately, Douglas isn’t in the pilot episode very long, only about two minutes.

First Episode Spoiler Alert…

His character appears to be a security guard at the topic secret supermax prison located 1000 feet below Venice and he is  coerced to help with the escape of Anthony Anthros, played by another BSG alum, Mark Sheppard. Mark Sheppard is known to Battlestar Galactica fans as the philosophical defense lawyer Romo Lampkin, Firefly fans as crime boss Badger, and Medium fans as serial killer Dr. Charles Walker.

Sheppard is a great actor who will be featured throughout Bionic Woman, and his character’s escape is dependent on Aaron Douglas’ security guard.

Douglas must do what he is told or his family will suffer the consequences.  He is handed a phone to call his wife Barbara and she tells him, “Baby, it’s me, do what he says.”

Once he hangs up the phone, we don’t see Douglas again, however, not too many scenes later, we see that Sheppard’s character has ascended to the wide outdoors, and presumably a man on the run.

I hope we see more of Douglas in upcoming episodes and learn the fate of Barbara and just what his character was forced to do in order for Sheppard’s Anthros to escape the prison.

If not, BSG will be here before we know it.

About Bionic Woman

Welcome to the best site on the web for news about Bionic Woman! Bionic Woman is a re-imagined, updated television drama inspired by the original 1970s show starring Lindsey Wagner. Helmed by the same creative team responsible for reviving Battlestar Galactica on the Sci-Fi Channel, the new Bionic Woman is darker than the 1970s original series but not quite as dark as BSG. The new show stars Michelle Ryan as the title character, Jaime Sommers, and Katee Sackhoff as her nemesis/frenemy Sarah Corvus. Each episode provides Jaime with an opportunity to further adapt to her bionic implants, and plots usually focus on her struggles to raise her teenage sister Becca while fighting techno terrorism and other types of crime. Bionic Woman airs on channels around the world, and in the United States it appears on Wednesday nights at 9:00/8:00 Central on NBC.
