The article seemingly confirms that casting Isaiah Washington really was a network decision, (something that many people have speculated about) and that Jamie Sommers’ character will go darker as the season progresses:

”There’s something very effortlessly winning about Michelle,” says [Producer David] Eick. ”And I love that, because I now get to make her do unlikable things and get away with it.”

It will be interesting to see just how unlikable Eick tries to make Jamie in the months to come.

Helmed by the same creative team responsible for reviving Battlestar Galactica on the Sci-Fi Channel, the new Bionic Woman is darker than the 1970s original series but not quite as dark as BSG. The new show stars Michelle Ryan as the title character, Jaime Sommers, and Katee Sackhoff as her nemesis/frenemy Sarah Corvus. Each episode provides Jaime with an opportunity to further adapt to her bionic implants, and plots usually focus on her struggles to raise her teenage sister Becca while fighting techno terrorism and other types of crime. Bionic Woman airs on channels around the world, and in the United States it appears on Wednesday nights at 9:00/8:00 Central on NBC.
