Bionic Woman Quicklinks for December 15, 2007

We are consciously trying to avoid reporting on this week’s premature headlines announcing that Bionic Woman has been canceled, since so many people have been prematurely announcing that for weeks now. Roco has the scoop on the most recent rumors over at bionic-blog if you are interested. The show started off so strong, as the Entertainment Weekly photo here demonstrates, and now Jaime is everybody’s favorite whipping girl. What is it about this show that makes people gleefully long for the day that it goes off the air??
Isaiah Washington stole the show when he picketed with his former castmates from Grey’s Anatomy earlier this week. You may remember that Isaiah left a storm of controversy in his wake on the Grey’s set, which a controversial point of publicity for Bionic Woman this season. Ryan, ever the IW fan, gives his thoughts on this below.
There was some talk about Katee Sackhoff getting a Golden Globe nomination for her performance as Sarah Corvus on Bionic Woman, but when the nominations came out earlier this week she was not on the list.
Lucy Hale, who plays Becca Sommers on Bionic Woman, was among the young stars who recently attended the DVD premiere of High School Musical 2.
NBC issued over $10 million in refunds to advertisers upset with the low ratings the channel is getting as a result of show hiatus issues and the writers’ strike.
And last but not least, if you are missing Michelle Ryan during the writers’ strike, you may want to check out these new Michelle Ryan desktops which are available for download.

Couldn’t have happened to a more arrogant group of people. I mean, we’re eight episodes in and we don’t even know the name of the town/city she’s living in. Or state, for that matter. Absurd.
Ryan was not the problem. She CAN act and the accent IS flawless, although she looks more like a young Diana Prince than Jaime Sommers. They failed HER, not the other way around. The hardcore fans viewed the pilot this summer and warned them that this was a train wreck in progress, but they didn’t listen. Welcome to your richly deserved comeuppance, Mr. Eick. Still think you’re the smartest guy in the room?

Margie, I have some bad news to tell you. According to http://www.Hollywood.com, they are already saying that “Bionic Woman” is officially cancelled. There is an article about it on their website. I thought I would drop you an e-mail and tell you the disappointing news. As for the petition, I don’t think that it is going to do any good. As of now, over 760 people have signed it.

Margie, the article about the cancellation is also available to read on http://www.pr-inside.com and http://www.superheroflix.com Maybe NBC and Universal have a huge heart and put the eight episodes on DVD sometime. Not only would that make the fans that signed the petition happy, it would make me happy.

Tony, I have seen all of those articles and the source they came from … and nothing against those sites, but it is still unconfirmed in my book. Especially since we were contacted today by a show insider to assure us that NBC has not canceled BW. I blogged about it tonight, but the bottom line is don’t believe everything you hear.
