Bionic Woman Still Alive & Kicking

Bionic Woman NBC Eye

Bionic Woman’s production office is still open, and the show still has a chance of returning reports Vancouver’s Globe & Mail newspaper.

While it is true that NBC has yet to order any new episodes of the series, they have also refrained from canceling the show which means there is still hope for Jaime Sommers to return for a second season.

“It’s kind of in this suspended animation,” said Pete Mitchell  in the newspaper article. “They haven’t canceled it and they aren’t going ahead at this point.”  Mitchell works for Vancouver Film Studios, the home for Bionic Woman in Vancouver.  Mitchell also estimated that the show is down to ten staff members, a large drop from the two hundred or more that were working on the show when it was at the height of production.

So even if you read elsewhere that the show is canceled, have faith:  Bionic Woman is still alive and kicking.

I sure hope that this show sees a second season. I’m definitely going to buy the DVD box set of Volume 1 when it comes out on March 18th. I hope that a lot of people who are big fans of this show buy it as well. I even checked to see how the petition to save “Bionic Woman” is doing: As of right now, there are over 2100 signatures. That is really great.

I want Bionic Woman to continue. It is a show with much promise despite it’s problems I have stuck with it and used my own imagination to fill in the blanks. I’d love to see it make several more seasons. It has the potential. I hope the studio will just kick this thing right back into production where it needs to be. Thank you.

  4. Neena Says:

I would love it to continue for at least 1 season - just so that we can see a conclusion to it. However for it to get a 2nd season it really needs to improve. The last two ep’s were good but there were still too many ‘what the hell’ moments.

About Bionic Woman

Welcome to the best site on the web for news about Bionic Woman! Bionic Woman is a re-imagined, updated television drama inspired by the original 1970s show starring Lindsey Wagner. Helmed by the same creative team responsible for reviving Battlestar Galactica on the Sci-Fi Channel, the new Bionic Woman is darker than the 1970s original series but not quite as dark as BSG. The new show stars Michelle Ryan as the title character, Jaime Sommers, and Katee Sackhoff as her nemesis/frenemy Sarah Corvus. Each episode provides Jaime with an opportunity to further adapt to her bionic implants, and plots usually focus on her struggles to raise her teenage sister Becca while fighting techno terrorism and other types of crime. Bionic Woman airs on channels around the world, and in the United States it appears on Wednesday nights at 9:00/8:00 Central on NBC.
