The Will Anthros Wish List: Blair Underwood

Today we present entry number six on our Will Anthros Wish List of ten actors who we wish had been cast as Will rather than Chris Bowers.  Chris did not work in the part and they had to kill off his character, and when they did most of the stories that had been planned for the season died with him.  If a different actor had been cast, the storylines could have been kept and the show would have been stronger as a result … thus, the Will Anthros Wish List.

Previous entries on the list have included Michael Rosenbaum, Sean Maher, Ian Somerhalder, Will Yun Lee, and Jennifer Connelly.

Blair Underwood Will Anthros Bionic Woman

How You Know Him:  Blair’s currently playing mind games against Donald Sutherland on ABC’s Dirty Sexy Money, the latest in his long line of sexy roles going back to his days on L.A. Law.

Why He Would Have Been a Good Choice:  He’s smart, he’s hot, and he can (and has) played just about anything.  He’s old enough to convince us he is a world-famous surgeon but young enough to still look damn fine without his clothes on (as Dirty Sexy Money fans saw when he recently bedded Darling socialite Karen).

Could He Have Played a Convincing Scientist?  Sure, he’s played everything else … including another doctor who mixed business with pleasure, when he romanced Cynthia Nixon’s Miranda Hobbs on Sex and the City.

Could He Have Played a Convincing Boyfriend?  Definitely, see the love scenes referenced above and the many others on his resume.  The man has moves.

Would He Have Taken the Part?  A better than average chance of yes, as his role on Dirty Sexy Money indicates he was entertaining roles during last year’s pilot process.  Back then Bionic Woman was a hot property, although from today’s perspective he made a wiser choice.

Clip of Evidence:  Watch Blair stay cool during a poker game so high stakes that money becomes meaningless and the players wager Manhattan real estate.  Dirty Sexy Money, indeed.
